Annual Utah Valley Job Fair
The 2019 Utah Valley Job Fair will be held at the Utah Valley Convention Center (220 W. Center in Provo) on Wednesday, March 13 from 2:00 noon to 5:00 pm. A number of job fairs are held throughout the year by various agencies, but this one is sponsored in part by the Utah Department of Corrections and employers who participate are aware that, among others, job hunters who have criminal records will be attending.

Utah Department of Workforce Services
Provo office: 1550 N. 200 West, 801-526-0950
Lehi office: 557 W. State Street, 801-526-0950
Spanish Fork office: 1185 N. Canyon Creek Parkway, 801-526-0950

At any office, ask if there is someone currently working with people who have been recently incarcerated–if so, they will be more aware of issues and opportunities when job-hunting with a record. Workforce Services also works with other agencies through UDOWD (see below) to provide better support for people who are seeking employment.

Utah Defendant Offender Workforce Development Task Force (UDOWD)
UDOWD is a unique partnership between the Department of Workforce Services, Vocational Rehabilitation, Adult Probation & Parole, and other organizations designed to create more opportunities in the job market for people who are coming out of jail or prison and to help them connect with those jobs.

A one-day workshop for job seekers with a criminal record is held twice a month (second and fourth Tuesdays) at the Provo AP&P office. Call 801-374-7684 or 801-502-9934 for more information.
